    Default Getting spayed...

My 5 month old kitten is due to be spayed next week, so I understand she will have stitches and an e-collar as well. I'm just wondering if this is going to be an issue for using the LK? She's currently doing really well on the amber stage and I shall be moving to the red stage very shortly. I am just wondering if she'll have any issues getting up on the toilet seat?

Any ideas, should I go back to the red stage and put the LK on the floor whilst she's recovering or perhaps put a box next to the toilet to make the jump to the LK a little easier?

    Cheers

Hello! Other cat owners have also asked similar questions and two answers I came across were:

    1) provide red tray on the floor till kittie gets better
    2) if kittie jumps around, attacks furniture etc. then clearly there are no problems with jumping/stretching and LK may remain on the toilet as it was

I started LK training after both kitties were fixed so cannot speak from personal experience.

Besides she's only 5 months old - even if you choose to go back to red for few days, it won't delay your LK training - kittens normally are very, very flexible and don't give much hassle when asked to change around their habits.

    Hope this helps

    Good luck,
    Sintija

    Hey,

Wait a few days - and giver her the LB - till she is comfortable with jumping around. Some cats need a couple of days to recover.
